Democratic strategist Julie Roginsky on Friday told CNN host Kate Bolduan that Vice President Kamala Harris does not need to do interviews because she will be spending money on ads to craft her own message.

Harris hasn’t sat down for an interview since launching her presidential campaign after President Joe Biden dropped out and endorsed her to take his place on July 21. Roginsky, on “CNN News Central,” told Bolduan typical Americans don’t care about Harris not doing interviews, and that she should not face scrutiny for avoiding them, after the host said Republican Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio has been attacking the vice president on this issue.

Initially, several news organizations, including CNN, MSNBC, CBS, The New York Times, and Axios, had no issues using the term after President Biden assigned Harris in March 2021 to address the root causes of migration from Central and South America. However, their stance changed as Harris became the Democratic presidential nominee following Biden’s withdrawal from the race.
