Video: The Green ‘Religion’ of Recycling: ‘A Dead End Street’

John Stossel, the Libertarian investigative journalist, has produced a new story about the myths of recycling, especially when it comes to plastic.

He points out that there are many cities in America that think they’re doing the morally right thing by banning plastic bags, which ends up backfiring in a number of ways.

He also notes that most of the green ‘religion’ that has become so common in America, is a product of the liberal media and that this has been going on for decades.

Is the Myth of Plastic Recycling Finally Being Exposed?

TheNewAmerican.com

It was to be a routine voyage.

It would become historic.

On March 22, 1987, the barge Mobro 4000, loaded with six million pounds of garbage and towed by tugboat Break of Dawn, departed Islip, New York. It was bound for Morehead City, North Carolina — but never did dock there. Instead, it spent the next five months at sea, turned away by multiple states and three foreign countries. It became big news when journalist Dan Rather called it “the most watched load of garbage in the memory of man.” But another load of garbage was the story the media spun about it. In reality, no one would accept the Mobro because of a rumor that it was carrying medical waste. But that’s not the narrative the media pushed.

It advanced the notion that the Mobro’s fate was a result of a lack of dump space.

LA Times Admits California Plastic Bag Ban Actually Made the Problem Worse

‘Unintended consequences’ Newspaper calls for 'a second plastic bag ban'

Foxnews.com

A Los Angeles Times editorial is asking for a "do over" in the plastic bag ban that actually led to more plastic waste, according to a recent report.

After California became the first state in 2016 to ban single-use plastic grocery bags, the thicker convenience totes that took their place as a reusable and recyclable alternative weren't reused and actually aren't recyclable. In fact, the study finds, the total amount of trash from plastic bags that California sends to landfills has never been higher

In February, the LA Times reported on the study, which looked at the impact of the plastic bag ban implemented ten years ago as an effort to reduce the amount of plastic waste and encourage the public to use reusable bags. A "loophole" allowed businesses to offer thicker "reusable" plastic bags at checkout for a small fee, but many consumers threw those out after a single use as well.

Microplastics in the Brain Have Increased by 50% in the Last Eight Years

Microplastics have been implicated in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's

Infowars.com

Levels of microplastics in the human brain have increased by 50% in the last eight years, according to a pioneering new study.

Researchers looked at autopsy samples taken in Albuquerque, New Mexico, between 2016 and 2024. They compared microplastic levels between different organs—the brain, liver and kidneys—and also compared levels in these organs over time.

Microplastics Discovered in All Semen Samples

Plastics and plastic chemicals are heavily implicated in the growing fertility crisis for both sexes

Infowars.com

Microplastics have been discovered in the semen of all the participants in a new study.

Microplastics were first discovered in semen samples last year, but the new study, conducted in China, raises the possibility that a significant proportion of the male population, perhaps even all men, may have microplastics in their semen.

The Microplastic Menace

If you're not protecting yourself and your family against microplastics, you need to be

Infowars.com

Microplastics are, quite literally, everywhere. You may think you know this already. But you probably don’t appreciate, not fully, the extent to which microplastics have invaded every corner of the planet and every corner of our bodies. Like I say, they’re everywhere—and I mean everywhere.

I want to tell you more about the nature of the microplastic menace, but also provide you with some easy advice you can follow to protect yourself and your loved ones against it. Although the scale of the problem can seem insurmountable, you can drastically reduce your exposure to plastic, and therefore the amount that will end up in your body, even if you can’t totally eliminate it. And in an imperfect world, that’s about the best we can hope for anyway.

  • Micro/Nanoplastics Linked to Heart Attacks and Strokes
Nanoplastics, particles less than 1 micrometer in size, are a significant environmental and health concern due to their prevalence and potential hazards. Americans could consume up to 3.8 million pieces of micro- and nanoplastics per year from protein sources alone. Infant formula has also been confirmed to contain microplasticsRecent research found individuals with microplastics or nanoplastics in their carotid artery tissues have a 353% higher risk of cardiovascular events like heart attacks or strokes than those without microplastics in their arteries
  • The Great Plastic Recycling LIE
Plastic recycling is a scam. Or is it? We all know that humanity couldn't exist in the way it does without plastic, however much of the way our current society operates with plastic were lies sold to us by the plastic industry. Since World War II, the plastic industry has been either lying to or directly manipulating, the population of the planet. And they've done all this for one simple reason: so that they can sell more plastic, and make more money. But the direct result of this is that our planet has suffered, and they've polluted our world with lies, deceit, and disgusting business practices. The plastic industry wants you to believe that some plastic can be good. When in reality, this is nothing more than propaganda, to keep our species in a cycle of profit, and destruction.

The Scourge of Microplastics

ANHInternational.org

Story-at-a-glance

  • Microplastic contamination is a monumental environmental and health issue with serious consequences
  • Micro and nanoplastics have found their way into just about every nook and cranny on land, sea, air, human and animal bodies. It's in our food and the water we drink, particularly bottled water
  • It's now being implicated in a wide-range of human disease processes from cancer to heart disease and neurological conditions
  • There's little we can do to avoid it, but plenty we can do to minimise our exposure.

Plastic. It’s ubiquitous. From mountain tops to ocean depths, it’s a part of our everyday lives. Plastic pollution is so widespread now, scientists are dubbing this period in history the ‘Plasticene Age’.

One of the most versatile, well used and persistent substances that exists on earth, it generally isn’t biodegradable. As it breaks down in the environment it gets smaller and smaller until it infiltrates just about everything in the form of micro- and nano-sized particles. They’re everywhere. In the air, water, seas, human bodies, dust, food, plants and animals. Finally, the subject of microplastics is hitting the headlines as awareness of the problem escalates.
