Supreme Court Shuts Down Activist Judge, Lets Trump Cut $250 Million In DEI Training For Teachers

The Supreme Court on Friday overruled an activist judge in Boston, allowing the Trump administration to slash $250 million for more than 100 teacher training grants for DEI and other woke programs.

In a 5-4 decision nine days after the request, the Supremes sided with the Trump administration's emergency request to stay the court order by judge Myong J. Joun of the federal District of Massachusetts - who had ordered the Trump administration to "immediately restore" the "pre-existing status quo prior to the termination."

According to the ruling - which is likely to narrow the ability of district courts to halt agency actions involving grant function, Joun lacked authority to order the Trump admin to restore the funding.

President Donald Trump’s ban on diversity, equity and inclusivity (DEI) programs at the federal level will be allowed to continue, thanks to a new appeals court decision.

On Friday, the 4th US Circuit Court of Appeals said the President’s ban on DEI programs is likely to be constitutional, overruling a decision last month by a judge in Maryland.

Two of the three judges on the panel provided separate commentary in which they said that, despite the decision, they disagreed with the substance of the Trump order.

“Despite the vitriol now being heaped on DEI, people of good faith who work to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion deserve praise, not opprobrium,” Circuit Judge Albert Diaz wrote.

Circuit Judge Allison Rushing, a Trump appointee, responded by saying her colleagues’ policy views were irrelevant to whether Trump’s directives should stand.

The policy was among a series of executive orders signed by the president immediately upon his arrival at the White House.

Under the order, which was titled “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government,” the administration vows to “defend women’s rights and protect freedom of conscience by using clear and accurate language and policies that recognize women are biologically female, and men are biologically male.”

Idaho Bans ‘DEI Ideology’ in Higher Education, Protects Campus Speech and Debate

The Idaho State Board of Education banned “DEI ideology” in all of the state’s higher education institutions, which going forward will be required to adhere to “political neutrality” instead of indoctrinating students.

The College Fix reported that the board approved three resolutions last month, each targeting a different facet of left-wing educational control. The 36-page proposal officially eliminates the congressional Diversity & Inclusion Office, which was first launched by Democrats in 2020 as part of an effort to discriminate against white applicants.

Funding for the office was already eliminated in a government spending bill passed in March, with plans to merge it into a new Office of Talent Management.

However, Democrats had hoped to restore funding for the office if they regained control of the House.

An official in the nuclear security section of the Biden-Harris Department of Energy argued that “queer theory” should be an essential feature of U.S. national security and called for the drastic reduction of America’s nuclear stockpile.

Sneha Nair, who was appointed by the Biden-Harris administration in February as special assistant at the National Nuclear Security Administration, claimed “white supremacy” dominates the nuclear field and that “queering nuclear weapons” as part of the DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) push “is essential for creating effective nuclear policy.”

“Finally, queer theory informs the struggle for nuclear justice and disarmament,” she wrote in April 2023. “Queer theory helps to shift the perception of nuclear weapons as instruments for security by telling the hidden stories of displacement, illness, and trauma caused by their production and testing.” 

Nair also stressed that “DEI principles and advancement must be considered crucial assets for strengthening nuclear security implementation,” adding they would prevent “insider threats.”
