Three days before Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. House Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving rejected Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund’s request for National Guard help because Mr. Irving said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) would “never go for it,” Mr. Sund testified before a House subcommittee on Sept. 19.
In his first testimony before a House committee since he was forced to resign on Jan. 8, 2021, Mr. Sund detailed his deep frustration at not getting the National Guard help that would have been a “game changer” on Jan. 6.
A little-noticed bill passed before Christmas shows that the U.S. Senate knows Nancy Pelosi had more to do with the U.S. Capitol breach on January 6, 2021, than anything President Trump did that day. Indeed, Nancy Pelosi could be crowned Queen of the Mob, since her actions led to the crashing of the perimeter fences, general dysfunction, and deaths of Trump supporters that day.
Even after the one-sided January 6 Committee left Pelosi’s role on the cutting room floor, there’s one inescapable conclusion: If she’d done her job, there would have been no riot, no deaths of Trump supporters, no show trials, and no political prisoners sitting in solitary confinement in a D.C. gulag for two years awaiting trial. And there would have been no need for federal agents to “orchestrate” a riot.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says China is “one of the freest societies in the world” but the non-profit she cited to substantiate her claim ranks the country as having one of the lowest scores for liberty across the globe. Mrs Pelosi made the remarks on NBC News a week after her simple flight in and out of Taiwan infuriated China enough to trigger days of aggressive military exercises that state media said simulated a “reunification-by-force” operation. According to Freedom House, which Mrs Pelosi cited, China ranks 17th last in the world out of 210 countries and territories in its total score on political rights and civil liberties.
