Democrats want Trump dead.

Just three months ago House Democrats moved to strip President Trump of his Secret Service protection if he is convicted.

Democrat Rep. Bennie Thompson introduced a resolution that would terminate Trump’s Secret Service protection. The legislation dubbed the “Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable (DISGRACED) Former Protectees Act would apply to all Secret Service protectees convicted and sentenced under felony charges.

A stolen election.  An FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago.  Countless investigations.  Four federal indictments.  A show trial and phony conviction.  And now an assassination attempt on his life.

And despite all that, Donald Trump remains standing.  Stronger than ever.

As he was escorted off that rally stage on Saturday, he was telling Americans to “Fight! Fight!”  His platform this election is a vision for national renewal: to Make America Great Again.  He pledged just hours after the attempt on his life to never surrender, no matter what.  He has put his life and fortune on the line and has persisted in weathering the storm for nearly ten whole years of relentless witch-hunts – and he has done so the entire time with a smile on the face, knowing it is all for the American people.

Our generation does not deserve him.  But he has made these sacrifices anyway for the greater good of the country.  At 78, he could easily retire and enjoy the rest of his days in peace and quiet.  He has worked so hard for decades, building a massive private fortune worth billions of dollars, before he ever stepped foot in the political arena.  He certainly did not need to do this – nor did he need to run a second time, after having already a very successful presidency.

The failed assassination attempt on President Donald Trump this weekend marks the second attempt on his life. This latest attempt is reminiscent of one of President Trump’s heroes, Theodore Roosevelt, who, while running for reelection in 1912, was shot in the chest. Roosevelt famously finished his speech before going to the hospital. Another Trump hero is Andrew Jackson, who, at the age of 67, was attacked by an assassin. Jackson beat the attacker to the ground and subdued him until law enforcement could take him into custody.

Conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas questioned Jack Smith’s authority as special counsel in his concurring opinion on the high court’s presidential immunity ruling.

The Supreme Court on Monday ruled 6-3 that Trump has absolute immunity for his core Constitutional powers.

Former presidents are entitled to at least a presumption of immunity for their official acts.

The Supreme Court ruled there is no immunity for unofficial acts.

The ruling, stemming from the case Trump v. United States, underscores the constitutional protections afforded to the highest office in the land, ensuring that a former president cannot be criminally prosecuted for actions taken within the scope of their official duties.

The case arose from an indictment against Trump by Special Counsel Jack Smith, accusing him of conspiring to overturn the 2020 presidential election results. The charges included spreading claims of election fraud and attempting to obstruct the certification of the election results.

Trump’s legal team argued that these actions, fell within the scope of his official duties as President, and therefore, he should be immune from prosecution.
