Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee released the long-awaited transcript from senior National Security Council official Tim Morrison on Saturday, and immediately distorted it for the benefit of the anti-Trump media.

It was a typical example of how Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and his staff have tried to skew the fact-finding process in an effort to inflate public support for impeachment, believing few will read the lengthy transcripts for themselves.

First, the committee withheld the transcript since October 31, only releasing it after the first public hearings began last week. Morrison’s testimony was rumored to be very good for President Donald Trump’s defense — Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) had described Democrats in the room during the closed-door hearing as “sucking lemons” — and Republicans would have made good use of it, had they had the transcript available. But it was not provided.

In the interim, Democrats had sole possession of the document. Schiff does not allow copies of the transcripts to be released to Republicans, either in paper or electronic form. If they want to read transcripts, they must do so one by one, in the presence of a Democrat committee staffer. Not only is that rule humiliating, but it also allows Democrats to control the flow of information and to prepare their public arguments with no fear of timely Republican rebuttal.

In the Morrison case, Democrats released “key excerpts” that highlighted the few facts in his testimony that, they believe, help push the case for impeachment. Chief among these is that Morrison confirmed that he heard U.S. Ambassador to the E.U. Gordon Sondland claim that he told a Ukrainian official, in a private “sidebar” meeting, that aid would be released if the Ukrainian prosecutor general would publicly announce an investigation into Burisma.

House Intelligence Committee ranking member Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) forcefully lambasted House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) in opening remarks during the Democrats’ impeachment hearing, calling out his multiple lies, deceptions and the “cult-like atmosphere” surrounding the Democrats’ efforts to remove President Trump.

Nunes first compared this new impeachment effort by the Democrats with their failed Russia collusion attempt, noting they’re using the same deceptive tactics and lies that are being promoted by the mainstream media.

“We’re supposed to take these people at face value when they trot out a new batch of allegations, but anyone familiar with the Democrats’ scorched earth war against President Trump would not be surprised to see all the typical signs that this is a carefully orchestrated media smear campaign.”

Nunes then highlighted Schiff’s completely “fictitious” and fabricated conversation of Trump and Ukraine President Zelensky that he performed in September.

“At a prior hearing, Democrats on this committee read out a purely fictitious rendition of the president’s phone call with president Zelensky,” Nunes stated Wednesday. “They clearly found the real conversion to be insufficient for their impeachment narrative, so they just made up a new one.”

Nunes pointed out that Schiff coordinated with the so-called whistleblower in secret before he filed a complaint against Trump, noting he prohibited Republicans from cross-examining him.

“And most egregiously, the staff of Democrats on this committee had discussions with the whistleblower before his or her complaint was submitted to the Inspector General,” Nunes said.

“Republicans can’t get a full account of these contacts because Democrats broke their promise to have the whistleblower testify to this committee. Democrats members hid these contacts from Republicans and then lied about them to the American people on national television,” he added.

Nunes went on to blast Democrats for refusing to allow Hunter Biden to testify in the hearings given the entire Ukraine debacle is centered around him.

“They are trying to impeach the president for inquiring about Hunter Biden’s activities,” he said, “yet they refuse our request to hear from Biden himself.”

“This spectacle is doing great damage to our country. It’s nothing more than impeachment process in search of a crime. And I yield back.”

 

 

 

Former President Barack Obama's ambassador to Ukraine, who was fired by President Donald Trump earlier this year, has been accused of lying under oath during her testimony on Capitol Hill for the impeachment inquiry.

Marie Yovanovitch allegedly made false statements while under oath during her October 11 closed-door testimony in the House Democrats’ inquiry into impeaching President Trump.

Yovanovitch is accused of committing perjury by Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY), who has provided copies of her testimony transcript to indicate where she was allegedly lying.

The allegations first emerged in an exclusive report by Fox News's Tucker Carlson on Thursday night, later being confirmed by Zeldin.

“Before the contents of the whistleblower complaint were known publicly, a Democratic congressional staffer contacts the former American ambassador to Ukraine to discuss what the staffer described as ‘quite delicate and time-sensitive questions,'” Carlson reported.

“This show has obtained exclusively an email for that Democratic staffer for the House Foreign Affairs Committee sent by private email to the former American ambassador Marie Yovanovitch.
